Cluely window shows during screen sharing

Resolve issues where Cluely is visible to others during screen share

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Cluely is designed to stay hidden (“invisible”) while you share your screen, but a few settings can cause the window to appear in Zoom, Google Meet, or other platforms. Work through each fix in order.

Verify Invisibility Mode is enabled

  1. In the desktop app, click the down-arrow icon on the command bar to reveal the settings and activity panel.

  2. Choose Settings ▸ Invisibility.

  3. Confirm the status message reads “Cluely is currently invisible.”

  4. If it says Cluely is not invisible, click Make invisible and retry your screen share.

Google Meet or other browser‑based sharing still shows Cluely

macOS users running versions < 15 have known issues with browser capture. Updating macOS to Sonoma 15 or later resolves most visibility problems. After upgrading, restart your Mac and test again.

Zoom must use its Advanced Capture pipeline to respect window‑filtering:

  1. In Zoom, click your avatar ▸ Settings.

  2. Select Screen Share on the left sidebar.

  3. Click Advanced at the bottom‑right.

  4. Set Screen Capture Mode to Advanced capture with window filtering.

  5. Close the settings window and start a new share to confirm Cluely stays hidden.

If Cluely still appears after these steps, email [email protected] with a brief description of your sharing setup (platform, OS version, and whether the share is “Entire screen” or “Window”).
