You can learn more about each step below:

1. Starting Cluely

Start a Session from a Meeting Alert, Join meeting from your upcoming meeting card on dashboard, or the Start Cluely button from your dashboard.

When you start a session to record a meeting or get individual help, you will see the app below with a few key sections. We will walk through all of them in this guide.

Cluely Widget

When you start a call, Cluely will appear as a small pill on your desktop to let you know your meetings are being transcribed.

For AI assistance during a call, click "Ask". Ask will open the chat bar, where you can:

  1. Assist: Click "Assist" for general assistance. Cluely will go through the transcript and understand the context of your call to jump in where needed. You can also trigger assist with CMD Enter on Mac or CTRL Enter on Windows.

  2. What should I say: Click "What should I say" for Cluely to give you line by line suggestions on how to respond.

  3. Follow-up questions: Click "follow up questions" for Cluely to suggest follow up questions.

  4. Recap: Click Recap for Cluely to recap what's going on in the call.

  5. Chat Bar: Type anything to ask Cluely in-depth questions about your screen or conversation.

  6. Smart Mode: Click "Smart" to enable smart mode for code assistance and advance reasoning models.

  7. Toggle Settings: Click the toggle icon to adjust Cluely's widget settings, from undetectability (learn more here), showing/hiding chat, and viewing the keyboard shortcuts.

  8. Closing Cluely: Hover over the chat bar. This will surface an X mark in the upper right corner of the chat bar, which you can click to close Cluely during a meeting. You can also click "Hide" or use CMD \ on Mac (CTRL \ on Windows) to hide the chat bar and widget as needed.

Stopping Sessions

Cluely will automatically end the session at the end of meetings from calendar alerts or mic change detection.

If you are using Cluely outside of a video conferencing call, you can hit the End Session button (Stop button or Square Icon in the nav bar) to end the session.

2. Assist

a. Cmd Enter for Chat on Mac (CTRL Enter on Windows)

Type anything and click CMD Enter on Mac or CTRL Enter on Windows or hit Submit to get an answer by default.

You can enable Smart Mode by clicking the lightening icon to enable Smart Mode for coding assistance.

3. Switching Modes

What are Cluely Modes? Cluely Modes are how you can add custom context, meeting note templates, and files (like resumes or pitch decks) to your conversations. You can learn more here.

To switch modes, please open the Cluely Dashboard, hover over your Mode, and select the desired mode. To create new modes, please click Manage Modes.

4. Move & Hide Cluely

Click anywhere around the Cluely Widget pill to drag the widget around. You can drag the widget anywhere on your desktop, including to other monitors.

To hide Cluely, please use CMD \ on Mac or CTRL \ on Windows. If you hover over the Cluely widget, simply click the rightmost X icon to close the widget.

If you need to hide the Cluely dashboard (or desktop app), you can minimize it entirely just like other applications. The widget and the dashboard behave separately.

5. Opening Dashboard

The Cluely widget is what appears during meetings to give you visual feedback for your calls and assist you. The dashboard is where you can manage modes, undetectability, Start Cluely manually, connect calendars, and most importantly, view past meeting notes.

You can open the Cluely Dashboard in three ways:

  1. Click the Cluely Logo on the widget

  2. Click the Cluely app in your taskbar or dock

The dashboard is also entirely undetectable if you have undetectability on.
