Audio Capture Error when using Listen mode

Resolve issues causing an "Audio Capture Error" in Cluely, especially for Windows devices.

Updated yesterday

Windows 11 Audio Capture Error

It looks like Cluely was denied permissions initially. Fortunately, you can approve permissions. In Windows 11, use the Privacy page to choose which apps can use a particular feature. Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security. Select an App permission (Microphone) then ensure that Cluely can access it. You can do this by searching and adding apps.

If this still does not resolve your issue, please delete & re-install Cluely.

Windows 10 Audio Capture Error

Cluely does not have support for Windows 10. The app might work, but is incompatible with Windows 10's audio, screen, and invisibility systems. As such, we cannot guarantee support for Windows 10.

“Audio device unavailable”

Disconnect any external or Bluetooth audio devices, relaunch Listen mode, and test. If Cluely now works, reconnect devices one at a time to identify the culprit. On Windows, confirm the correct input and output are set as Default in Settings ▸ System ▸ Sound.

“Region not supported”

Our transcription partner does not operate in your country. Connect through a VPN in the United States (or another supported region) and retry. If several VPN regions fail, audio capture is currently unavailable where you are.

“Transcription service unavailable”

This usually reflects a short‑lived provider outage. Wait 10 minutes and then try again with Listen mode. If the message returns, please contact support and request a human agent so we can investigate.

“Wi‑Fi disconnected”

Reconnect to the internet, then start back up Cluely’s Listen mode. This error message should resolve if you have reconnected to stable WiFi.
